Saw a short article in the January 2013 issue of Civil War News about the Freedom’s Frontier National Heritage Area.
Designated by Congress in 2006, the area comprises twenty-nine counties in
eastern Kansas and eleven counties in western Missouri. The Freedom’s Frontier NationalHeritage Area website has a handy compilation of historic sites plus a
timeline, a listing of upcoming events, and other features.
