After my visit to Michigan, I read "Waiting for the Morning Train," and enjoyed learning more about his youth. He was indeed a great writer with a genuine love, I think, for the soldiers that he wrote about. I'm reading Catton's "Waiting for the Morning Train," and came across his description of the Civil War Monument, so I googled it, images, and came across your blog post. I've read snippets of his Civil War history, but am now determined to read them in their entirety. He's a witty, entertaining, writer.castawayhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17653469685678467326noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5326223780463850836.post-16636595531091388992010-08-05T10:09:56.341-05:002010-08-05T10:09:56.341-05:00Jane, Thanks for this post, Bruce Catton I think ...Jane, Thanks for this post, Bruce Catton I think is responsible for so many of us being interested in the history of the Civil War.Lee Whitenoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5326223780463850836.post-26087256806503710102010-08-04T07:04:35.156-05:002010-08-04T07:04:35.156-05:00Bruce Catton wrote as well as anyone that has ever...Bruce Catton wrote as well as anyone that has ever put a pen to paper.
